Zoe was born in 1979 in Taipei and was given the name Yu-ting. She was followed two years later by a sister, called Wan-ting(Kay). The two sisters loved comics from an early age and actually learned to read by reading Doreamon comics. In 1994,the Huang family emigrated to Canada. Gushan chose the English name Kay from an electronic dictionary and Guxi chose Zoe. Kay was chosen because it was easy to write and pronounce. Her sister was envious that her sister had chosen the easiest name to write in the dictionary. She also chose a three-letter name, Zoe, short and also easy to write and say.
The two competed together in the GIO,Executive Yuan, Annual Taiwanese Government Graphic Novel Awards in 2006, their first collaborative work “The Devil's Ointment”winning award for First Place and Best Story. For them comic drawing has been addictive and the two have been active as comic artists since.
In 2007 Guxi and Maoren entered the Graphic Novel Awards jointly but failed to win a prize. Gushan/Tang Su entered the comic work “ Il Borsaiolo” in the Morning International Manga Competition but didn’t win a prize.

Gushan and Guxi
Although their grand father was disappointed that Guxi wasn’t a boy when she was born in 1979 he still took a train to Tainan and chose the name Yu-ying after consulting a fortune teller. Two years later, when Gushan was still in her mother’s womb, the doctor did an ultra sound test and said she was a boy. Grand father, disappointed again, went to Tainan, to the same fortune teller, and came back with the name Wan-ting for her.
Gushan said when she grew up she would marry Dahsiong but Guxi said that wasn't right because there were no male siblings and they needed a husband who would live with the Huang family
The sisters have liked making up stories since they were kids. They decided that they would not marry when they grew up but would draw comics together.
Kay and Zoe were born in Taipei City and emigrated to Toronto, Canada. Kay was graduated from Sheriden College's Classical Animation Program, and studied Computer Animation at Seneca College. She currently works as a 2D conceptual designer for a Toronto-based video game company, Pseudo Interactive.
Zoe obtained a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Drama at University of Toronto, with a special focus on playwriting. Her one woman show “R.O.C. - Republic of Confusion”toured Canada and won the Montreal Fringe Award for Best Text. Kay and Zoe's first comic book collaboration was “The Devil's Ointment” winning First Place and Best Story at the Annual Taiwanese Government Graphic Novel Competition in 2006.
