Loling likes to use lines of poetry in her comics. Her supporting characters attract attention and her anti-heroes quickly attract more attention than the main male character. Her characters aren’t beautiful in style but their eyes are enchanting.
In her comics the rhythm of the story is grasped to perfection. There are many fight scenes in her books. The movements are smooth and the appearance of the naughty characters is very funny. Although Xishuidieyi ends too quickly, overall it can be said that the dramatic tension of the plot is of a good standard.
The tableaux can help the reader discover the meaning of the characters and unconsciously they enter the story and take the initiative in creating characters, with the result that the characters seem real. The imagination of the reader often leaves behind the artist’s original work
In New Century Mona Lisa she uses the tableaux and physical movement to transmit the plot, expanding the imagination of the reader. Using her unique drawing style, she portrays life in early 20th Century Shanghai in “Xishuidieyi” and in “New century Mona Lisa she depicts a futuristic romance, opening up the imagination of her readers.
