Born in 1963, Ren Zheng-hua was once Arts Editor of a magazine. As she was interested in comics, she enrolled in the “Little Mi Comic Class” and has drawn quite a lot of works of short edition such as the Vampires' Night, Killing All the Monsters and Traitor. She loves the subject and atmosphere of the monsters and her first long edition works, Sea Xiu Luo was published in serial in Week Comic Weekly magazine, which has made a very interesting criticism and complaint of the evil and greedy of the human nature. It is quite a large subject.
In 1984, during inauguration of the Happy Comics, she published a few short edition comics in it. Later, admired by Ren Zheng-hua’s talent, the Times Newspaper Weekly Magazine invited her to draw a set of Human Flesh Bun. In 1989, the Week Comics provided her with the opportunity to publish in serial the Sea Xiuluo, which also proved the recognition of her solid drawing techniques. The Sea Xiu Luo continued to be published in serial in Top Young of Tong Ban in 2000.
Many comic fans will shake their heads and sighed when they talk about the comics in Taiwan. But they praise Ren Zheng-hua for her Sea Xiu Luo and the Unruly family. Ren Zheng Hua even won the Golden Pot Prize with her new works Draw a Comic World.
As a senior comic artist in the comic circle, Ren Zheng Hua is a person with a low profile. Her talent of creation was recognized by the comic circle. She always manages appropriately with her works, especially on the horror and humorous subjects.
Ren Zheng-hua’s screenwriting ability and drawing techniques were highly recognized by the readers. She viewed that the most important thing for comic is that it must be “good to read”. How can this be achieved? She stated that this will test the comic artists’ ability on how to describe the story. Ren Zheng Hua is planning to reproduce the Sea Xiu Luo. If this is achieved, she will feel no regret to leave the comic circle anytime.
